History

A genuine sheepdog

Kennel Woodshine’s history is long, and there has been several other breeds - amongst them rough Coullie, Norwegian Elkhound and German Shepherd before the belgians made their entry.

The first litter of tervueren saw the light in November 1979, in addition to the tervuerens there has been a few litters of groenendael and Finish Lapphound as well.

The first one.....

Right after newyear in 1978 - in a one week old issue of Aftenposten - there was an add for Tervueren puppies, the first litter born in Norway. I had no clue as to what this was, but it looked like a good looking dog in my dogbook. Three puppies were born, to males and one female, and the female became mine. She was the beginning of what has become a lifestyle for me.

Cita

Cita (Chieo’s Loke the Rouge o’bark can do x Partner’s Freyia) was her name, very livly, very social and affectionate, and none of my dogs afer her has even been close to being what she was. Cita was Cita no matter what.

If you have one, you gotta have two....
The year after Cita entered my house we went to Sweden and picked up Elu Garcon - Kensi (Ch Adonis du Boscaille x Xconette). His conformation was extraordenary, mentally he was all belgian all the way to the tip of his tail. After two years with Kensi I learnt more about dogs and belgians especially than ever since.

Kensi and my brother Bjørn Kåre

These two dogs was the beginning of 30 years with this wonderful breed, the short version of our history. In honour of their memory I've written short presentations of the dogs that throughout our history has had huge influence in my breeding, and also in the breed in Norway - especially Max and Roi.
